Son single, « With You », empile alors les écoutes (8 millions).

---------

With his first Album, Everything Matters, Clément Bazin realizes a sweet dream: rethinking electro by integrating an instrument from which he is inseparable today, the steeldrum, and imagining a bridge between his favorite genres, the calypso, the soca , hip-hop and post-dubstep UK of the 2000s, a synthesis between Machel Montano, Jay Dilla, D'Angelo and James Blake.
Clément Bazin was 10 when he discovered the steeldrum, this steel drum from the island of Trinidad and Tobago, at a neighborhood party. It was love at first sight, he fell in love with this very particular sound which, from then on, would never cease to obsess him. After releasing his first 2 EPs "Inner Voices" and "Night Things" showing his talents as a producer, he matures his lifelong desire: to incorporate his heart instrument, the steeldrum, into his compositions to register it in a certain form. modernity and imagine it differently.

In 2016, the idea materialized with Return To Forever, his first EP released on Nowadays Records (Fakear, La Fine Equipe, etc.), finally marrying steeldrum with a more dancing house. His single, "With You", then piled up the listenings (8 million).
In the months that followed, he went on to prestigious stages with the first parts of Fakear's Zéniths and Petit Biscuit, very remarkable appearances at Solidays, Vieilles Charrues, Sziget, at the MEG Festival and a Gaîté Lyrique sold-out in November. 2017, because it is live that his music takes all its scale: large without being bombastic, moving without hammering the eardrums and mainly based on a harmonious balance between sharp beats and more organic sounds.
The same year he won the Fair and the Talents Adami prize and at the same time affirmed his love for hip-hop with a new EP, Us, whose title "Distant" featuring singer Lia, also exploded the listening counter. (8000000).
"With You" and "Distant" are the two first stones of Everything Matters, an album that is dense and plural in its way of perceiving a dancefloor where euphoria and nostalgia constantly mingle, where smiles are inhabited by a sweet melancholy. A cold steel instrument with a warm sound, the steeldrum, like Clement Bazin's Album, exudes a duality between color waves and emotional charges.

The album was conceived on both sides of the Atlantic, because it was in Montreal, during his visit to the MEG Festival, that he befriended the hip-hop group Ragers, around which revolve many voices that tap in the ear of Clément Bazin, those of Aaricia, MCs ZéFire and JT Soul or singer Lia. A Quebec scene that he found so exciting that he would return to Montreal a year later, to record all of Everything Matters' featurings in a few days.
The rest of the album will be produced in his Parisian studio, where he will dress it with this tribal sensuality and these heady gimmicks that will give it that particular character, with nuanced moods. The songs evoke: a spontaneous and casual declaration of love ("Catch Me" feat Aaricia); a hypnotic stroll borrowing from nostalgia (“That Feeling”); an exotic and languid atmosphere ("Romeo"), or even a solar and exalted passion ("Ride" feat Lia). Everything Matters, by its diversity, thus confirms the talents of beatmaker and multi-instrumentalist of Clément Bazin.
Between syncopated rhythms, voice distortions and heady beats, Clément Bazin imagines an electro with tropical textures and subtle soul excursions, built around a steeldrum which blossoms fully in this judicious alliance between organic and synthetic and which, like a symbol , takes center stage when closing the album, to finally play the leading role.
