Selman Faris

Paris France

Born in Paris, Selman composes, produces, and plays several instruments (viola, guitar, piano, ney, etc.). He first studied viola at the conservatory for 8 years before continuing his music education at CIM, the American School of Modern Music in Paris, and ultimately at CalArts in Los Angeles, where he earned a master’s degree in guitar.

Since 2016, he has closely collaborated with the label Don Dada, co-founded by Hologram Lo’ and Alpha Wann, which allowed him to work as a beatmaker, composer-arranger, and musician on the album UMLA, the Don Dada Mixtape, Vol. 1, as well as collaborate with Nekfeu on Les Étoiles Vagabondes, Sneazzy on Nouvo Mode, PLK on Platinum, Infinit’ on Ma Vie Est Un Film 2 and 888, and also with Laylow, Krisy, Jäde, and Deen Burbigo.

In 2022, he released his first solo project, Neva, a blend of multiple inspirations ranging from Turkish music to electronic music and funk, under his artist name Selman Faris and on his label KIRAZ Records, created for the occasion. At the same time, he released a joint project with K.S.A. titled Monaco and composed for Stromae on his latest album Multitude.

His strong passion for cinema and music has led him to compose original soundtracks, first with Syrine Boulanouar for the film Les Étoiles Vagabondes and later with Laylow and Osman Mercan for the film L’Étrange Histoire de Mr. Anderson.
Equally experienced in live performance, Selman has had the opportunity to grace the stages of legendary Parisian venues such as Olympia, La Cigale, and Le Bus Palladium. He has also performed internationally in cities like Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Venice, and Los Angeles.

In 2024 he teamed up with the french record label Roche Musique, home of international success such as FKJ, Darius, Dabeull, Kartell, Cezaire and more, to prepare his next project. The first single of this upcoming album, Sehir Uzakta was released in June 2024, setting the tone for what comes next.
