Misja Fitzgerald Michel, Né le 10 octobre 1973, grandit dans un environnement musical et commence la guitare à sept ans. Élève de François Jeanneau dans la classe de jazz du Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, il part à vingt ans pour New York où il poursuit son apprentissage auprès des instrumentistes réputés Jim Hall, Billy Harper et Kenny Werner. Immergé dans la scène des clubs de jazz, il joue aux côtés de Ravi Coltrane, Chris Potter ou Mark Turner.

Après un premier album autoproduit en 1998, Live At La Villa en trio avec Scott Colley et Tony Rabeson, le guitariste français enregistre On The Edge (2002) auquel participent le contrebassiste Drew Gress, le batteur Nasheet Waits et l'invité de luxe Ravi Coltrane au saxophone. Le suivant, Expectations, sorti début 2004, est le fruit d'une collaboration en duo avec Drew Gress. Un pied outre-Atlantique, l'autre en Europe, Misja Fitzgerald Michel parcourt les festivals de Montréal, Marciac, Vienne, Paris et Nancy et se produit au club parisien Le Sunset.

En 2005, le guitariste récemment signé sur le nouveau label No Format, enregistre l'album Encounter en compagnie de Drew Gress, Ravi Coltrane et Jochen Rueckert (batterie). Musicien aux goûts éclectiques allant de la musique baroque au rock en passant par le jazz et les musiques traditionnelles, Misja Fitzgerald Michel pratique aussi bien la guitare acoustique ou électrique que les modèles à douze cordes. Son art de l'improvisation et de la recherche aboutissent à un projet ambitieux : réinterpréter l'oeuvre du musicien anglais culte Nick Drake. Une tâche dont il s'acquitte merveilleusement sur l'album Time Of No Reply paru en février 2012 et salué par l'ensemble de la presse comme une belle réussite.
