Guillaume Fédou/ Another Singer
It's hard to write the bio of someone who still has everything to live. However, "Singer since 1974" is what he has always called himself, thus alluding to his first cry in the Albi hospital just a few weeks before Giscard's arrival at the Elysée and that of the film Emmanuelle (in the original version) on the Champs-Élysées. It's an understatement to say that this jack-of-all-trades (except mosquito nets, Higelin would say) is not a singer like the others, not one more singer and therefore one too many.
Writer, journalist, social parasite that everyone likes (or almost) Guillaume Fédou likes to make his different experiences felt and felt through his songs, which are not outside but "alongside" reality.
His main artistic quality, after writing romantic-suicidal texts that never die, is knowing how to surround himself well, and thus turn his weaknesses (dilettantism, amateurism) into a strength in contact with the best of us: the vintage song of Arnaud Fleurent-Didier, the 2000s rock fever with "Les Soucis" (his group composed of Victor le Masne, Pierre Leroux, Philippe Monthaye, Judah Warsky and Mattias Mimoun), the electro revival with Junesex, Benjamin Diamond, Alan Braxe, with the voices of Loane and Olivier Rocabois as ribbed reinforcement, the spatial and studious pop of Jérôme Plasseraud...
In a formula that he will not keep secret for long, Guillaume calls himself "selfish in many" and likes to tell his story through others as long as they do not offer too distorting a mirror of himself.
This collective dandy has therefore released around twenty titles since Garçon moderne in 2003, several albums, clips, given quite a few concerts but it is now with "Auto-Reverse", the compilation of his greatest successes, that he arrives in the afternoon of his existence (reference to the excellent "The Afternoon of our lives" by Olivier Rocabois) that he finally seems ready to take the matter seriously.
