Dancing Years
Pianist and composer and singer-songwriter David Henshaw began writing together in 2008, joined shortly after by school friends Dan Fielding (now ) and , who began performing with them on the Leeds music scene - where they were quickly picked up by independent label Hide & Seek Records.
Violinist and drummer Joe Montague soon joined and Dancing Years formed to record their first single (2013) with James Kenosha ( and ),
After their first headline tour and favourable local radio coverage, the group became BBC 6 Music darlings – drawing comparisons to the , and - with a run of releases on 7-inch vinyl championed by the likes of Steve Lemacq, Huw Stephens and Cerys Matthews.
The success of their debut EP , produced by Colin Elliot ( and ), saw them playlisted by BBC Radio 1 with a BBC Introducing Stage set at Glastonbury in 2016. After embarking on their first headline the same tour the group disbanded, now only working collaboratively together occasionally on solo records.
