Frànçois and the Atlas Mountains is the project of French musician Frànçois Marry. Originally from Saintes, France, he moved to Bristol, UK, in 2003, where he shifted from working as a French teaching assistant to becoming part of the city’s independent music scene. Inspired by a DIY ethos, Frànçois developed a unique sound blending indie pop, folk, and global influences. After several years of self-releasing music, he signed with Talitres and Fence in 2008, and in 2011 became the first French artist on the renowned indie label Domino. Over the next decade, he released critically acclaimed albums. In 2024, Frànçois signed with InFiné, marking a new chapter in his career. His latest album, Âge Fleuve, deeply influenced by the loss of his father during the pandemic, explores themes of memory and heritage. Now based in the Landes, Frànçois continues to evolve, with his voice at the heart of his boundless creativity.
